Telescope Technologies Limited
manufactures a hydraulically actuated enclosure specifically
designed for robotic use at remote sites. This enclosure is capable
of housing telescopes of aperture up to 2.5m.
Our enclosures are manufactured from a series of
steel portals with weatherproof membranes. The simple design
improves reliability, and allows the enclosures to withstand gusts
of up to 100km/hr even when open.
The open design reduces thermal effects in the
evening, dramatically improving the quality of the images generated
and increasing the amount of observation time. It also provides
rapid access to the whole of the sky.
Our enclosures are hydraulically actuated,
reacting rapidly to protect the telescope in the event of bad
weather. They are capable of fully closing in is as little as two
minutes. Even in the event of power loss, they can be closed within
ten minutes.
